The Dutch State Secretary of Finance has changed the policy regarding the international allocation of severance pay. From now on, the allocation must be made on the basis of the entire length of service on which the amount of the severance payment is based.
If the course of service can no longer be traced and the correct allocation cannot be approximated either, allocation takes place on the basis of the last twelve months of employment with the employer concerned.
The new policy applies to severance payments paid as of 5 February 2022.
