If you are a British national or a family member of a British national, your right of residence in the Netherlands will not change during the transition period, from February 1, 2020 up to and including December 31, 2020. However, as of January 1, 2021, you need a Dutch residence permit to stay in the Netherlands.
If you or your family member are registered as a British national in the Personal Records Database (BRP) and you live in the Netherlands, you will receive an invitation letter from the IND in the transition period (with a possible extension to July 1, 2021) to file an online application for a residence permit within 4 weeks. You will subsequently receive an invitation to schedule an appointment via the IND website for the delivery of biometric data.
The IND will send your Dutch residence permit by courier to your home address.
